Anywhere But Here by
Sarah T Dawn, Ethan (Giles/Ethan)
Drama; after The Gift
The summer after her sister dies, Ethan shows up to take Dawn on an adventure. One of my favourite stories.
Arousal
by Maidenjedi
Character Study; Chosen
Despite the name, not Dawn-smut (dammit). The spell has an unexpected effect.
Best Friends 4-Ever
by Green
Character Study; Blood Ties
Sweet, sad look at ten-year-old Dawn, her insecurities and her best friends. The twist was something I didn't expect and yet so right. Loved this.
Daylight by
Branwyn Character Study; AU 'Some people are just born quirky.
It’s probably genetic: a theory she considers validated by the fact that her
brother shares a lot of her weirder traits.' I don't think I've ever read this
idea before. I love it.
The Hardest Thing in This World
by Aurora
Character Study; post The Gift
Dawn is left alone in the empty Summers house twenty-seven hours after Buffy's leap from the tower, as everyone's perception begins to break down. Sad and beautiful.
Jigsaw
by Perri Smith
Character Study; S7
Excellent ficlet about why Dawn suddenly became Watcher Jnr.
Kitten by
Tha Wrecka Dawn/Glory Darkfic; Weight of the World. 'She was glorious
and you wanted her.' Eep. Just eep.
Not Real
by Tha Wrecka
Character Study; Vignette
Tiny snapshots of Dawn's history. Very short - I liked it a lot.
Puppy Love by
Flywoman Dawn/m Darkfic The pairing and the time period necessarily
have to remain a mystery to fully appreciate this creepy little diary
entry.
Rainbows and Smoke
by Amberina
Dawn/Kit
Romance; S7
Dawn and Kit smoke pot in Kit's bedroom. I thought it was adorable, but then I have a
thing for Dawn-slash. Warning for underage non-explicit sex and, uh, extremely
accurate portrayal of pot-induced high. I've heard.
The Self-Same Lore
by Cynthia Liskow
Character Study; S6
This follows Dawn from All the
Way through to Grave, and portrays her as a confused, messed-up, sometimes bitchy
girl. A normal sixteen-year-old, in other words. Along the way she fools around with
one boy and loses her virginity to another. The sex is handled really well - despite
the rating, I wish I could have read this in my late teens.
Singing Back-Up
by The Walking Happy Meal
Character Study; Once More With Feeling
Dawn never did get to finish that solo. A look at her reasons for stealing, her feelings about her origins and her thoughts on the people around her.
To the Waters and the Wild
by SeraC
Horror; Futurefic
Dawn picks up a strange girl in Ireland. I love the melding of the Buffyverse with folklore.
A Twist of the Key
by Wigglesworth
S6/7
:cough: It's about Dawn. Err, getting spanked. Look, I don't give you grief about your fictional kinks...
Umad
by The Walking Happy Meal
Character Study; Tabula Rasa
Things to make you go "oooh…" This is a little Dawn-centric piece set during the final musical montage in TR as she thinks about her identity, her memories and the consequences of her creation. This brought up a very interesting idea that I don't want to spoil, but which made me think about some things in the series very differently.
Umad Learns Sumerian by
Annakovsy
Character Study; post-Grave
So how did Dawn learn Sumerian so fast? This has her studying it in the summer between seasons 6 and 7, and some of the lines are just so telling about how Dawn feels about herself and the others. Plus I'm a massive geek so I dug all the (authentic) Sumerian How-Tos.
