29 Linear Moves
by Yindagger
Angst; Romance; post-The Gift
29 drabbles relating to the moves of Tai Chi. Pool and UST that ceases to be U.
Amnesia! Spike
by Mahaliem
Spike/Xander, Spike/Buffy, Spike/Angel...
Humour; S6
A spell gone wrong leaves Spike unable to remember anything, but once he starts to piece together the evidence there's only one logical conclusion - he must be in love with Xander. I'm giggling just thinking about this one.
Coming Out
by Kayla
Humour; S4
Xander's mom wrongly comes to the conclusion that her son's gay, and conspires to
get him to be naked friends with Spike. A hoot and a half.
Dark Horse
by Wiseacress
Darkfic; AU Futurefic
There's only one thing better than post-apocalypse slash, and that's really dark post-apocalypse slash. The vampires are in charge, and Spike buys the only Sunnydale survivor. The ending - gah! The ending! All I will say.
Domestic Piranhas
by Mad Poetess and James Walkswithwind
Spike/Xander, Angel/Wes/Gunn, Ensemble cast of both shows
Humour, AU
Mad as a box of frogs (or a tank of carnivorous fish). Spike and Xander are living in the Hyperion with their pet
piranhas, and planning their wedding. It's a loopy and hilariously funny series that
made me laugh my ass off more times than I can count. Everyone's great, but Dru shines
as the auntie to the piranhas.
Ennui
by Phaelstya
Angst; PWP-ish; S4
"Xander gives his first blowjob and Spike is pleasantly surprised."
Joined at the Hip
by Splurgie
Humour; Angst; Romance; S7 (between LMPTM and Dirty Girls)
A run-in with a demon leads to Spike and Xander being mystically handcuffed together
for three days. I tip my imaginary hat to the author for making me laugh
hysterically and making me sniffly with the same fic, as well as convincing me that
these two could have worked in season 7.
Loserville
by Shrift
Humour; Character Study; S4
Novella. With everybody else doing their own thing, Xander's stuck hanging out with the only other person with nothing to do. So funny, and so very Xander. I dug the Larry references, too (Larry, my Larry...)
Modus Vivendi
by Wiseacress
Character Study; alt S5
This is one of those ones that defies my attempts to categorise it. Ah, good old Character Study it is. After Anya breaks up with him, Xander moves to LA, where an encounter with Spike royally fucks his life up. Badly beaten up, he ends up in Spike's converted warehouse apartment. I'm glad I have my fic on a palm pilot, because once I started this I couldn't stop reading it. There's an original character, Liv, who I could read a novel about by herself. Novel-length.
Nicolette Says Jump
by Kalima
Spike/Xander/OFC
Humour; S4
Spike and Xander and a threesome with an original female character who I'm kinda gay
for. This is a scream.
Orange Crush
by Annie Sewell-Jennings
Humour; S4
'So, this is what it feels like to lose your mind. Funny, but it's nothing what
Xander thought it would be. He thought it'd be more fun. You know, chasing imaginary
butterflies and saying funny, random things like "The glue! We have to save the
glue!" But it's not like that at all. It's not funny in the least. And it's all
Spike's fault.' Ah, snarky season 4 Spander, is anything better? There's a whole
series of this Orangeverse, you can follow them through from the one I've linked.
Sidelines
by Anna S.
Romance; Humour; Alt-S4
Somewhere in the widdle Sunnydale in my head I'll always wonder how the series would have gone if Seth Green had stayed and Xander rather than Willow had been the gay Scooby. This is a brilliant reworking of season 4 where Xander ends up with Spike instead of Anya. The best S/X I've read, this manages to have great dialogue, fun stuff going on (love Spike's pet kitten) and still keep Spike as Spike, snarky, conflicted and insisting he's evil till the bitter end. I absolutely loved Xander in this.
Throwing Shapes
by Anna S
Humour; alt S4?
Anna S is officially the queen of Spike/Xander. This is a surreal headrush that never explains exactly why the boys have amnesia, or what they're doing with a bag of cash and a gun, but drops us straight into their struggle to find their identity. I love Xander's imagined history for them (circus freaks are involved) and the sweet but oh-so-sexy relationship that builds between them. And the denouement, as they run into a bewildered Angel, is great.
Truth or Dare
by Bryne
Slash; romance; alt S6
Sort of warm, fuzzy Spike/Xander fic (just not enough of that around). A game among the Scoobies leads Xander to some interesting revelations about himself. I loved Spike actually being accepted into the gang, to the extent that he's on the list for the shovel talk ("Spike is my friend and if you hurt him I will beat you to death with a shovel." Willow giving the talk to Xander is very cute.)
